Dear Saint Anne’s School Community,
Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope that you found your Christmas break a time of rest and rejuvenation. I am sure that this new year will be filled with lots of joy and lots of
learning.
As you may know, Mrs. Wilson, previously teaching Art at Saint Anne’s, is now teaching one of our Pre-K classes. The transition has been wonderful and seamless, thank you Mrs. Wilson. To fill the Art teaching position, Mr. Carroll will start next week. Mr. Carroll, in addition to his Masters in Art Education, has been teaching Art since 2008. Currently he is also a teacher at St. Martin of Tours in Brentwood. This is a great opportunity for Saint Anne’s School. He will be using the Google Classrooms established by Mrs. Wilson, so if you are a remote learner, please
continue to log in with the codes you have used all year.
The Iready Assessment has been a key component of what the Diocese of Rockville
Centre and the Morning Star Initiative have been using to help diocesan schools. In the Fall, St. Anne’s School participated in the initial assessment process. The diocese has asked us to conduct the second assessment in early March. We will communicate more information as it becomes available, but we remind families to please send their children with wired headphones to participate fully in this process. This is a computer based test and the headphones play an
integral part in that experience.
Catholic Schools Week is fast approaching! This gives us the opportunity to celebrate the traditions and the gift of Catholic Education, made possible by Saint Anne’s Parish Community. Soon a schedule for the week will be available, but I wanted to highlight that January 31, 2021 at 10:00AM will be our annual Catholic Schools Week Mass at Saint Anne’s Church. We encourage you to attend in-person, or virtually via the parish YouTube Channel.
Our faculty and staff are excited to start 2021 with you. Please keep us in your prayers, you are certainly in ours.
God bless,
