Welcome Students!

You will find lively discussions and will work together to create various presentations to demonstrate what you have learned throughout the year. My class is unique and interesting because we focus on the "why" instead of memorizing facts or dates. Students are challenged to get outside their comfort zones and share their ideas and thoughts. Not everyone thinks the same way and I want my students to recognize that and open their minds to other ways of thinking. My assessments are mostly projects. Students get to create Facebook pages for former Presidents and Civil Rights Leaders. Another popular one among my 7th graders is the Explorer Holiday Project. Students choose an explorer, research that explorer, and then create a holiday for that explorer and explain why they feel that explorer deserves their own holiday.
